Infinix Band 5: Affordability at a high cost

Infinix has introduced a new and wearable at affordable prices named Infinix Band 5. It is really affordable and comes at a friendly price tag but is it the right option for the people who are looking for the advanced features, friendly UI and good design? Let us find it out in this review:

Before we start the review let’s have a quick look at the features:

  • LCD Display
  • Water Resistant
  • Heart Rate Monitor
  • Battery Life with continuous heart monitoring: 7 Days

Build Quality, Looks and UI

At this price you don’t expect a premier build quality but the material used in this wearable really disappoints with their rather cheap looks. It makes you feel a bit hesitant whenever you wear it in parties, gym or social groups. The comfort quotient is equally inferior with its inflexible and and hard straps. The vivid display looks great though and it comes with 0.96” display. It has a rating of IP67.

Features and functionality
Downloading the Infinix Life 2 app is essential for using the band with the Smartphone. Multiple add-on features available with this app aren’t readily visible. Setting them on the band’s interface isn’t possible either. For instance, the sleep tracker feature displays nothing on the band and likewise you would need to manually set up the various utility features (app/SMS reminder, shooting picture by shaking the device, etc.) via app only. So the UI is quite unfriendly. The wearable also lacks the swift touch response.

On the positive note, you can manage display on time and determine the notifications that you wish to receive by going to the settings. Going by the company’s statement of 7-days battery backup, the battery life would be another strong point of this wearable. Also it can non-stop monitor your heart rate and come with appreciable accuracy and notification capabilities which is one of the main USPs of the device

Final Verdict
Infinix Band 5 has its own set of hits and misses and if all you need is to buy an average wearable with basic functionality at affordable price tag then this could be a good fit for you. But don’t expect it to stand the competition of other wearables that come with refined features, friendly UI, wide array of options or agreeable design.
