Plantronics is one of the trusted brands that offer quality headsets to the buyers with some user-friendly features along with good sound quality. One of the popular models launched by the brand is BackBeat Go 2 which is a sturdy Bluetooth headset with excellent features and thoughtful design. Let us see how it fares on different aspects:
Plantronics comes with the strong provision and friendly design that does a fairly good job to snug the earpiece well into your ears and secure them well. To a great extent, physical activities like brisk walking or jogging don’t dislodge the earpieces but still, you may need to be a bit careful. It doesn’t hurt your ears even if your skin is sensitive, thanks to the high-quality build material and wise design.
The device comes with an especially designed cable that doesn’t tangle no matter how you keep it which allows it to become your all-time companion, to carry in parties or just keep it inside the already stuffed pouch. Though the size exceeds the average dimensions, the device doesn’t hurt the ears due to its lightweight material.
Just near the right earplug there are a user-friendly controller housing buttons for controlling volume and receiving calls. Not only the controller is comfortably wide but is wisely positioned in the right year that allows for easy maneuverability. The buttons aren’t congested and there are enough gaps in between them that allow for hassle-free controlling.
The earbuds are protected against sweat and moisture, thanks to the P2i high quality nano-coating.
Sound quality and audio performance
You can enjoy an awesome sound quality as the headset can capably pick up and accentuate even the subtle musical melodies without altering their originality- thanks to its solid 6 mm speaker. While it offers appreciable bass experience as well, we cannot term it as bass strong earpieces.
It is not only the ideal device for the music but also delivers an excellent calling experience by advanced features like echo cancellation and digital signal processing capability.
It just takes 30 minutes to juice up the battery from 0 to 100% and the charging levels are indicated by the small LED light where red means low and blue light indicates fully charging. The battery life isn’t long though and it doesn’t go beyond 4 and a half hours. It is worth mentioning that the DeepSLeep hibernation mode allows you to keep it uncharged for as long as half a year without any issues. The charging case also houses come with charging indicators. Its micro USB charging port is positioned conveniently on the right earplug.
If you are concerned about the short battery life, then it is worth noting that the device allows you the option to extend the battery life by additional 10 hours with the help of its ballistic nylon rechargeable case- which isn’t a part of the package and comes at an extra price tag.
The device offers a premium musical experiment and the solid build material also offers its high durability. The wise design ensures that it snugs well into your ears without being dislodged easily during movements. The earbuds don’t hurt ears and can competently resist water and sweat. The wire remains smooth and doesn’t tangle no matter how you roll it or where you keep it. It can easily be controlled and can remember as many as 8 different devices.
Two main things that may leave you disappointed (a bit) are lack of longer battery life and an extra price tag attached to the charging case. That said, if you are a heavy bass lover then you would need to carefully review the bass quality before purchasing the device.
High safety, excellent music quality, call friendly features and user-friendly design & controls make the headset a great product for the music lovers but the battery lifespan is very short and the solution to this, i.e. a case charged with 10 hours additional battery life, comes at an extra price tag. The rice isn’t low but it is fully justified given the capacity and builds quality of the product.
